The Joan Saxton Lecture Lunch at The Gables The Joan Saxton Lecture Lunch established in 1970 is held at The Gables on the last Tuesday of the month. We have an entertaining lecture by renowned speakers that have included the Honorable Professor Geoffrey Blainey A.C, Ms Annette Allison and Mr. John-Michael Howson OAM to name just a few. Joan Saxton our indomitable patron insists that the speakers are first class and above all, entertaining. Joan started and operated Melbourne’s first speaker’s agency in 1970. The agency was hugely successful and continues today. After selling the agency Joan retained the Joan Saxton Lecture Lunch Club and continues to preside over the lunches. Lunch is two courses with coffee, chocolates and wine. All served in our grand ballroom which features an exquisite lead light window. Guests are encouraged to make up a table of any number or join with others in a welcoming social atmosphere. Off street parking is available. Arrival time is 11.30am for a 12.00pm sit down. Lunch is served followed by the lecture and question time. The price is $55.00 per person. Bookings are essential We cater for all dietary requirements. Please mention your requirements when booking.
