My wife and I recently got married at the Gables in 2021, this was a venue that we had our eye on and locked down early on so we could save up and have our dream wedding. Covid19 canned our first attempt (we very nearly our second) so you can imagine the stress both we and the vendor went through that time, yet despite all the turmoil caused by those external factors they came through time and time again for us! The service provided by the staff prior and during the wedding was top notch, the food amazing and the venue itself beautiful. Highly recommend and once again extend our thanks for the service and effort The Gables provided over the entire period.

Hi Gables Team,

We are back from our holiday and just wanted to say A Huge Thank you!
Each and every staff member on the day gave exponentially service.

I specifically want to thank Phil for her outstanding and over & beyond hospitality and professional service. She made us feel so comfortable and at ease throughout the entire wedding process. The day wouldn't have gone smoothly without her. I would like to also thank Mish and the waiting staff for their excellent hospitality.

I know for a fact, my family and friends absolutely loved that day and everything in it.
Food was amazing! Venue was picturesque and obviously the highlight of gables is the people part of it . So Thank You again, Gables Team!
Will definitely recommend and you might see familiar faces come to high tea. haha

My guests have expressed their delight and pleasure in our Friendship Party last Wednesday 29th of May. The elegant venue and welcoming atmosphere of “The Gables” provided the perfect setting for our celebrations.

The Ladies thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food & buffet and were impressed with the artistic presentation of the table settings.

Dear Philippa and The Gables team,

On behalf of David, Bronwyn, our families and friends, David and I would like to thank you very much for such a wonderful wedding day on Saturday 27th of April.

We were so impressed with The Gables, the house is just so beautiful and the gardens were immaculate (the flower planter urns were lovely) please thank the gardener for such a splendid job!

Everyone was thrilled with the diverse and tasty menu, also the champagne and wines. The children enjoyed the spacious rooms and everything was very thoughtfully arranged and organised.

We would like to thank you for helping make Suzanne and Josh's wedding at the Gables so enjoyable. We all had a wonderful day and were very happy they chose "The Gables" for their wedding and reception.

You helped with the train on Suz's dress upstairs with Simon, the photographer, and downstairs as David and I escorted her to the celebrant-thank you! Having two tiny flower girls dropping rose petals and one young Ring Carrier was always going to be a little risky! It all went very smoothly and it was lovely of you to anticipate a glass of lemonade and a lollipop as a reward. You also took the cake in hand and embellished it beautifully with the extras provided by Suz and Josh.

The "rolling" canapes in the garden were an entree to a lovely meal inside. There was plenty of them and they were tasty and delicious, Your friendly, smiling staff kept up with both the drinks and eats throughout the day-thank you to all involved.

From "go" to "wow" the day went flawlessly. Suz and Josh had a wonderful day as did we all! We are very grateful to everyone at The Gables for the care taken with their day, It was most enjoyable for everyone!

I just wanted to thank you very much for looking after us so well last night. My wife and I were guests of the hosts and were very impressed with how we were looked after.

My wife had a vegetarian dish and I am not exaggerating in saying that it was the best one that she has ever had at a function. The presentation of the dish was superb and she informs me it was very tasty. Normally vegetarian dishes are a second thought but in this case it was obvious that considerable thought had gone into the presentation.

WOW! INCREDIBLE WEDDING DAY!
Our Wedding day on Saturday was made PERFECT by all at The Gables in Malvern East. It was truly a magical day even better. I can’t thank enough Jessica for organizing, advising and for the perfection planning of our wedding day. To the proficient ladies, thank you Carolyn and Sue for managing all the details, and the floor staff, who looked after us and our guests with their wonderful service and served always with a smile. Carolyn you didn’t miss a beat on our day, we were treated like royalty. All we had to do was relax, enjoy and be with our friends and family.

We are extremely happy that we chose the Gables for our wedding. The mansion has all the opulence, glamour and ambiance for our story that you can’t get with contemporary venues that we looked at. The stunning garden with its greenery and gorgeous gazebo was the perfect environment for our ceremony and garden party. As dusk came upon us we all moved inside to enjoy the brilliance of the mansion. The magnificent rooms inside are so beautiful, spacious and intimate as well. Great dance floor too!!.

The food was absolutely delicious and plentiful, with such variety which suited all the different dietaries. Huge thanks to the amazing chef Darren Daley for his delectable creations. The wines and sparkling drinks were a class of their own. The pricing is so reasonable and it’s worth it!

Sue and Michelle, a note to thank you both for the magnificent birthday party which I had last Wednesday, 8 August. Every one of my guests spoke so highly about the event and they all enjoyed it immensely. The Gables could not have been a better choice of venue. Everything was just perfect, thanks to both of you.

Please let the waiters know that they went about their job quietly and efficiently and pass on my thanks to them too. I can honestly say that the event ran just like clockwork. It was great!

Erin and I just wanted to thank you and your team for putting on a truely wonderful event last Saturday.

The house looked amazing and the food was delicious.

We have received so many positive comments from our guests regarding the house, food and service.

The whole event came together and went far better than we could have possibly imagined. Even the weather cleared just in time.

In particular we liked the fact that guests were able to experience all the areas of house and garden during the evening, from the ceremony in the garden, to the canapés on the driveway and veranda and finally the cocktails and cheese in the dining room.

We would also like to thank you for your patience in the leadup, and for accommodating all our weird and wonderful requests, and for helping us put on an event which truely reflected our personal style.

We ended up with an inside ceremony and reception (it rained) and it was perfect - the windows are stunning, the details on the walls. It also contained the 30 kids who came to the wedding - who had a great time flitting between a couple of rooms. The food was good, Sue who looked after us on the day had everything running smoothly.

It was a wonderful reception place — our wedding was well organised, the food was absolutely beautiful and the staff were very helpful during the whole process. The place looked stunning on the night and many of our guests commented on what a wonderful venue it was.

Thank you so much for making our Wedding so memorable! Throughout the whole planning process, we appreciated your approachability, sense of humour, and exceptional attention to detail. We were particularly impressed with your calmness in the face of our last minute seating plan chaos!

Our Wedding day couldn't have been better. Our guests had a ball, and are still talking about the lovely setting, the beautiful meal, and the attentiveness of your staff. We were delighted with how smoothly everything ran, even when faced with the outside/inside ceremony dilemma (thank you Melbourne weather). Your willingness to delay the decision meant we were able to get married in the garden as we wanted (thank you Melbourne weather).

Thank you too for your florist and DJ recommendations; my flowers were stunning, and everyone is still raving about the music. In short, Sharee, we had such a great time that, if we could, we'd get married at the Gables every year! (Lock in the 19th...)

To “all the wonderful Staff”,

Although it is now one week since the wedding of our daughter, Jacqui, to Jim Lamour on Saturday 15 November, we wanted to write a note to “The Gables” to thank everyone who, over the last 12 months since booking your beautiful venue, right up to and including the wedding and Reception at 12 noon, helped to make their wedding a very happy and special occasion, one which will provide wonderful memories for many years to come.

Prior to the wedding any request or queries made by us were always attended to in a helpful and friendly manner and on the day itself, the gardens and interior looked immaculate, and the service we received from your staff was wonderful.

We have received letters and telephone calls commenting not only on the above but also the food. It was all very well presented, tasted delicious and extremely generous quantities. My girlfriend, who has a Celiac problem, was most impressed with the care and attention she received.

We will certainly have no hesitation in recommending “The Gables” and it will always have a special place in our hearts.

Dear Claire, Sharee and the Gables ‘Team’,

We were so inspired by events on our wedding day on 9th November that we felt we must let you know how delighted we are.

From a catering perspective, I understand how difficult it is to please everybody, especially when catering for those with special dietary needs. I thought you’d be pleased to know that not only did the two individuals who needed special treatment thoroughly enjoy their meal, all of our guests made it a special point to tell us how delighted they were both with the quality of the food and the level of service your staff offered. Considering the age ranges of our guests spanned from 3 to 85, this must have been no mean feat!

We received so many positive comments about the venue, the gardens, and atmosphere. Your grace in dealing with the unexpected problems only added to our enjoyment of the day.

For my new wife and I the day went very well; in fact it surpassed our expectations. Sunday 9th at The Gables proved to be one of the most exceptional days in our lives; helped by the smooth running of the service you and your staff offered. All your staff were all pleasant and polite, all eager to offer as much help as possible.

One of our guests is a restaurateur, who a week after the event is still paying high complements about the day to his friends/associates. We would be happy to recommend The Gables to anyone. Once again, thank you

The Gables is such a gorgeous venue, you will fall in love with it's charm immediately! The staff are all very professional and accommodating and helped our day to run very smoothly. It is simply a stunning venue for both indoor and outdoor photography and you will not need to add much in the way of decoration, as the place is already so pretty, with complimentary flower arrangements etc.

We had a lunch wedding and our guests all commented on how nice the food was. The pricing for this option was very reasonable, considering the package inclusions.

If you are looking for a venue with top notch service, food and opulent beauty, do not look past The Gables!
